Our Approach

Renewable Guard is the premier insurance brokerage serving the renewable energy industry. Through innovative solutions and specialized expertise, we offer our clients peace of mind with increased coverage, significant savings, and attentive service. Our team of talented project support experts offer experience in every phase of the project lifecycle from insurance lender consultants to claims specialists. Year over year we’ve proved to be the go-to solution for growing and protecting your renewable energy portfolio.

Who We Are

Renewable Guard is an insurance and risk management brokerage created to meet the unique insurance needs of the Renewable Energy Industry. We represent an industry-leading team of renewable energy-certified risk managers insuring more than 10 GWs of renewable energy projects throughout the country, with an existing client pipeline of projects more than doubling that figure by the end of 2025.

We believe strongly in the power of clean energy and its ability to create a cleaner, more sustainable world. For our part, Renewable Guard can help the push towards reducing carbon emissions by ensuring catastrophic losses do not impact the short and long-term stability of companies who continue to construct and operate these important renewable energy projects.

How We’re Different

Consistency & Partnership

If you’re looking for a quick-fix triage to your insurance, that’s not us. If you’re looking for a long-term strategic partnership that will consistently go to bat for you to help you build your business, you can rely on us.

With elite, high-caliber, and high-touch customer relations we provide our clients with a concierge experience that they won’t find from big box firms.

Honesty & Transparency

There are a lot of opportunities in this industry to present inaccurate or unsustainable figures in order to win contracts, only to increase rates down the road. We’re not in the business of bait-and-switch insurance coverage. We are committed to honesty and transparency forming the basis of our relationships with both clients and underwriting partners.

With our holistic approach, you get a full service team that will work collaboratively to ensure that you not only have the proper coverage at the best rate, but our project finance team will work with your lender to ensure each project is closed on time every time.

Our Mission

Renewable Guard was founded on this mission statement almost 10 years ago and began by supporting small to medium-sized Sponsors that were less attractive to large insurance brokers, but still required renewable energy insurance expertise. These Sponsors experienced exponential organic growth and frequently referred us to fellow developers in need of our industry-specific insurance expertise. Our reputation as an expert in renewable energy insurance among Sponsors, Carriers, and Insurance Lender Consultants has been a large contributor to our success and one of the reasons why we are now the trusted insurance retailer for a top 3 Solar IPP in the county.

Unlike many retail insurance firms servicing the renewable energy industry, we are 100% independently owned, representing the interests of our clients alone. Our opinions and operations are independent of the needs of shareholders or meeting sales quotes. The fees and commissions we charge are transparent and are directly proportional to the services we provide. Once we have reviewed existing insurance programs, we may be able to offer a lower commission + incentive compensation for reducing overall insurance premiums from the prior broker.

Made up of industry veterans and former insurance lender consultants, the team at Renewable Guard was recruited and designed with a purpose: Provide a results-driven, concierge service with bespoke innovative strategies that differentiate our client experience from the rest. Our client retention and customer net promoter score of 98% is due in large part to the leadership team we have assembled.
